Assistance in filing your 2017 taxes will be provided January 16 – April 17. Tax appointment scheduling has begun!


Walk-ins for tax filing assistance are not permitted, so please schedule an appointment at one of Just Harvest's four tax sites(locations on this page) or at any of the other 15 free tax sites in Allegheny County by calling the United Way PA 2-1-1 Southwest help line by dialing 2-1-1 or 1-888-553-5778. These lines are answered 24/7.

Unfortunately, many people do not know about the tax credits they are entitled to, or they lose much of the refunds to commercial tax preparers in preparation fees and advance refund loans.We are committed to the idea that tax refund money should be kept by low-income workers and their families, not swallowed up by tax preparation fees.

In the 2016 tax season, we completed over 2,900 returns and refunded nearly $5.8 million to low-income families! Of this, around $2.9 million was in EITC and $1.8 million was in Child Care Tax Credits. This fantastic work was made possible by 117 volunteers donating nearly 5,900 hours of service.

For those served, these tax refunds helped put food on the table, pay off debt, make rent or mortgage payments, and pay for heat and electricity during Pittsburgh’s winter months.

If your family received less than $45,000 in income this year ($25,000 for a single person), you may be eligible for our free service. Anyone who has an income of less than $64,000 can use the My Free Taxes website to prepare their own federal and state taxes for free:
